Shrimp omelet

A shrimp omelet is a delicious and protein-packed dish that’s quick to prepare. Here’s a simple recipe to make a flavorful shrimp omelet:

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup cooked shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs (like parsley or cilantro)
  • 1 tablespoon diced onion or green onion (optional)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Optional: shredded cheese (like cheddar or feta)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the shrimp: If using raw shrimp, you can sauté them first. In a skillet, heat a little butter or oil over medium heat, add the shrimp, and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. Whisk the eggs: In a bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them until well combined. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  3. Cook the omelet: In the same skillet, add the remaining butter or oil and heat over medium-low heat. Pour in the whisked eggs and let them cook undisturbed for a minute until they start to set around the edges.

  4. Add the filling: Sprinkle the cooked shrimp, onions (if using), and herbs over one half of the omelet. If you’re adding cheese, sprinkle it on top of the shrimp.

  5. Fold and finish: Once the eggs are mostly set but still slightly runny on top, carefully fold the omelet in half over the filling. Let it cook for another minute until the eggs are fully cooked and the cheese is melted.

  6. Serve: Slide the omelet onto a plate and garnish with extra herbs if desired. Serve hot.

Tips:

  • You can customize your shrimp omelet by adding vegetables like bell peppers, spinach, or tomatoes.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding spices like Old Bay seasoning or hot sauce.

Enjoy your delicious shrimp omelet!
